Final Project
For my final project, I have chosen to create a blog, different from the one we were exposed to (sorry Blogger, but you just aren't currently sophisticated enough) for future semesters. It contains a plethora of resources and information that the students can utilize and access throughout the semester, and it will also serve as a posting for class and homework notices. I've also attached a news RSS feed, a source for music and photos, the podcast I created (which was sort of a commercial for the course), and the wiki project I created as a sample for future research projects.

Fahrenheit 451 Literary World
For my foray into Literary World, I've created an informational musuem space on one of my favorite novels, Fahrenheit 451. However, I just couldn't get into this project...it's been my least favorite. It seems rather low-tech and rudimentary after some of the other stuff we've done, and I don't see it being a useful application that I would ever use in a class.
Completed Podcast
After messing around with this a bit more, I was able to actually listen to the edited version. It's a short commercial (so to speak) with a few English students giving their perspective of what to expect from English 151 (one of the courses I teach at KCC). It's pretty brief and straight-forward, but the addition of the Mortal Combat music to the background adds a bit more to it. I continued to have trouble playing the edited version with Audacity, so I had a friend introduce me to Cool Edit (which I had never even heard of), but it ended up working well.
The Wiki Project is Being Used!
The alternative research project I presented to my class is now in use-although it is just in the beginning stages. Out of 45 students, 3 brave souls decided to collaborate together on an argument-research paper, and so far, they're still deciding on a topic and compiling research. While they have set up Google Reader sites and are linking potential useful sites to their Blogs, they are allowed to use a multitude of other sources as well.
